A Taguig court has issued an order to arrest the former business partner of actress/host Kris Aquino, Nicko Falcis in connection to fraudulent use of access device.

Judge Felix Reyes has issued a warrant of arrest against Falcis who was charged for obtaining money through the use of an access device with intent to defraud under Republic Act No. 8484.

The Taguig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 70 has fixed a P60,000 bail for Falcis' provisional liberty.

Earlier, the city Prosecutor’s office reportedly recommended the filing of estafa and fraudulent use of access device cases against Falcis. However, it also dismissed the qualified theft complaints against
Falcis filed by Aquino.

Meanwhile, Falcis counsel Regi Ponferrada said that their camp already filed an omnibus motion before the Taguig Metropolitan Court Branch 117 and Taguig RTC Branch 70 – to defer the arrest warrant.

"We will verify if a warrant has been issued, but we hope the issuance of the same will be deferred in light of our motion," Ponferrada said in a statement.

In a statement, Aquino’s lawyers said the police went to Falcis’ house in Quezon City to serve the arrest warrant but he was not there.

"His family and his brother claimed to not know his whereabouts," they said, as reported by GMA News
