Manila, Philippines - The San Miguel Corporation (SMC) through their president Ramon Ang has donated 50 units BMW motorcycles to the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG).

PNP-HPG director Chief Supt. Roberto Fajardo, said that he did not inquire for more details as to how much does each unit costs but usually the high-class G 310 R motorcycles could cost for around P250,000 each based on BMW's website for motorcycles.

Fajardo said that this high class units would be a "big boost" in the daily operations of HPG's patrolling units along EDSA.

He added that this is the first time that the PNP-HPG has received such type of vehicles after 50 years.

“First time in the sense na BMW ito. Kasi siguro mga 50 years ago pa ‘yung last time na nagkaroon ng BMW ang PNP. We are very thankful for the SMC through Ramon S. Ang for his generosity,” Fajardo said, addressing the reporters during the turnover of the vehicles on Friday.
He added that the HPG unit has coordinated with SMC and BMW for the maintenance of the motorcycles.
