Philippine taekwondo Olympian and Makati Representative Monsour del Rosario has strong words for the parents of Ateneo Junior High School student who had been recorded on a viral video throwing punches and kicks to his schoolmate.

The former actor said that the “bully” is a “failed representation” of the sport.

“Yes, none of us are perfect — we’ve all made our mistakes and should not judge people loosely. But to the parents of the bully, let’s be very clear here, this is as firm a judgement as you will ever get from me: Your son is a FAILED representation of our beautiful sport.” The former Taekwondo inductee said

Del Rosario also slammed the incident saying “Every aspect of the viral video was hideous, weak and unacceptable,”

He then urged the parents of children, especially those who are in martial arts, to raise them well, to be better.

"RAISE YOUR CHILDREN BETTER. LET'S ALL RAISE OUR CHILDREN TO BE BETTER. LET'S RAISE OUR SONS -- PARTICULARLY THOSE IN THE MARTIAL ARTS -- TO BE GOOD MEN." Del Rosario said

He explained that had to issue an official statement because: “I’ve received literally hundreds of texts and calls in the last 24 hours from our colleagues in the press and personal friends asking for a statement on the bullying incident that took place in Ateneo recently.”

“The amount of messages increased exponentially after it was revelaed that the young bully is an alleged taekwondo black belt and gold medalist,” he added.
