Manila, Philippines - Triggered by the recent mess involving the bully ateneo student, President Rodrigo Duterte is also being called the "biggest" bully, according to his detractors.

Some critics of the chief executive tagged him as the "biggest" and "number one" bully in the country.

With this, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo issued a statement amid the outrage of the netizens over the viral video of a student throwing punches and kicks on his schoolmate.

On a tweet, Gideon Lasco, a columnist of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, said: “Duterte is the country’s bully-in-chief and we cannot be mere spectators.”

"Ateneo has dismissed its bully. Tayo kaya, kailan natin madi-dismiss yung pinakamalaking bully sa ating bayan?" Bayan Muna Representative, Teddy Casino also said in Twitter.

Twitter user @benyacult said the country has “a bigger bully to defeat” and “that’s Duterte.”

With this, Panelo dismissed these comments and said these were not the public perception.

“Public perception? Maybe from his and the administration’s detractors,” he said in a text message

Earlier, Panelo already said that the president was “not a bully” after Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Tagle condemned as bullies those who use their power to abuse others.
