Manila, Philippines – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is known for his simplicity and cowboy style, which the Filipino masses like about him.

In a statement during his meeting on Friday night with the Filipino community in Papua New Guinea, the chief executive revealed he brings canned food and dried fish with him whenever he’s on foreign business trips.

“Maniwala kayo o hindi everytime, maski pumunta kayo sa hotel bibigyan ko kayo, nagabaon ako karne norte, pati tuyo at sardinas. Ayaw niyong ma niwala, bibigyan ko kayo,” the chief executive said.

The president also shared his experience in India where he was not allowed to bring in canned foods.
